Long Islanders First to Marry with the Mets LONG ISLAND WEDDINGS

A Long Island couple who love each other and the Mets got hitched at Citi Field this past Saturday, March 27th, according to The Daily News, making them the first to marry at the new ballpark. Francesco Caputo and Jacqueline Scotti held the ceremony at the Church of Saint Aidan in Williston Park, then took a white trolley to Flushing. Once at the stadium, they received Mets jerseys, “a commemorative brick from the stadium and had their faces emblazoned on the scoreboard as they walked around the field.” The reception for some 270 guests was then held at Citi Field’s Acela Club, which has spectacular views of the baseball field. Dessert was served in Mets cups and for groomsmen gifts, according to the article, the guys received bats. As for favors, the couple opted for a charitable effort instead, paying for two kids with autism to attend a summer camp for one week. Score!
