The Best Bridal Gown Salons on Long Island

places to get your wedding hair done in long islandIs there anything more fun and exciting than shopping for a wedding gown?
If you are not sure where to begin, these bridal salons are a good starting point.  And here are some tips:

Flip through bridal magazines first and cut out images of wedding gowns that you like.

Take these photos with you when you begin browsing for gowns, and go over them with the salon professional.

Keep an open mind - the gowns you like may not necessarily work with your body type.  The best way to buy a wedding gown is to try on everything -- you'll then see first hand what works and what doesn't.

Take your budget into account.  Your dream dress doesn't have to cost half a year's salary.  Remember, this is one day of your life and you will look beautiful from the inside out, regardless of what you are wearing.

Have you visited any of these?  Did you have a good/bad experience?  We want to know.  Please comment below.

For mother-of-the-bride or bridesmaids dresses, try Melony Mazzeo (melonymazz@yahoo.com) in the Roslyn area. She designs her own line of dresses & has a private shop in her home. I bought a one-of-a-kind suit from her that I wore to my son's bar mitzvah last May. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it.

I went to all the above wedding salons except Tatiana during my one year search for my wedding gown and if you want to experience sales(wo)man whom only expect you to spend over $3,000 on a dress otherwise you aren't worth their time, a salon space that could compare to the inner-beauty of Oheka and being rushed to try on your gown because they have another appointment lined up after you, then these places are for you. They ARE perfect for the common bride from LI, whom wants a lavish wedding and a dress to suite it. But if you want just a family-owned and operated type of establishment that actually cares about you when you walk in the door not with a Fendi handbag on your arm, I suggest never going to these salons. I mean, leave it up to LI to love the bridal salons that completely cater to the over-the-top weddings of which we allow in this area. When we are the 2nd highest priced place to have a wedding in the country, I guess we'd need a salon that adhered to that standard. Otherwise, just be like every other bride in the world and go buy your dress from a salon that actually cares about you regardless of what you are spending.
