The Best Long Island Wedding Catering

best Long Island wedding cateringCatering a wedding offers an opportunity for brides and grooms to truly personalize the affair.  So do use this as a way to create a one-of-a-kind reception.

For example, you can customize the catering menu to coordinate fully with your honeymoon location.  Heading to Mexico?  Serve an elegant menu that reflects that particular cuisine.  Or if you each come from different ethnic backgrounds -- you're Italian, he's Greek -- blend the catering menu to reflect that.  Are you an eco-conscious couple?  Hire a green caterer that will only utilize organic, local produce.

Here on Long Island, it's easy to find a catering company that can mesh with your palate and tastes.  Take a look but we want your comments about these too, to help other brides.  So please comment below.

Back to Long Island Wedding Planners' Best Picks

We were under the constraints of needing to do a Kosher wedding on a strict budget.

Peter Schneier at Regal Caterers was recommended by a co-worker who has used him for years. He's the caterer we booked.

I was worried about "Kosher food taste" (my fiance is the one who wants Kosher food) so I insisted on a tasting even though my fiance has been to parties catered by Peter and his company before. That tasting took place a few days ago. When I say I wanted to lick the plate, I'm ashamed to say I'm not exagerating! They prepared everything from sushi to meat carvings, to mini hot dogs (my favorite - I'm quite the culinary snob when it comes to them, too) to soup, to salad, a chicken dish to die for and so much else.

I am gluten free, my cousin is gluten free and nut free, my father is diabetic, and there are a few other dietary constraints. Peter's answer to each one was "no problem. We've done that" or "we can do that." And, no matter the change, the request, the question, etc. he has come through every time in the most friendly, reassuring, and calming way!

HIGH RECOMMENDATIONS WHETHER YOU'RE IN NEED OF KOSHER FOOD OR NOT!

If you call Peter, tell him Sandey and Steve sent ya!

Oh! Forgot to give you the number. 631-462-5229. They are also known as Philip Stone and Culinart - one is the parent organization and the others are subsidiaries, I think.

They have several venues for which they are the house caterer but will also be happy to go to your location.

Happy hunting,
Sandet

Just reading the comments above and want to add that Bagel Boss of Roslyn (400 Willis Avenue, Roslyn Heights 516-626-5599) as well as their sister store, Deli Boss (390 Willis Avenue) are great kosher caterers as well. Call and talk to either Deb or Randy for your catering questions or order--they're great and are highly recommended by The Party Elf (www.thepartyelf.com)
