Generations Riviera Maya HONEYMOONS

You may have noticed that I’ve been gone for bit — but there’s good reason:  I was on a fabulous hosted vacation in Mexico at one of the newest beachfront resorts, Generations Riviera Maya, a Karisma Hotels and Resorts property.

This 144-all-suite resort, which is just a quick half hour ride from the Cancun airport, features butler service and all-inclusive gourmet cuisine in its on-site restaurants that are individually themed — and each one is beautifully decorated to suit your mood.   Feel like Pan Asian for dinner?  Try Jade’s Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese menu.

Looking for something bold and unique?  Make a dinner reservation at Wine Kitchen, Restaurant & Tasting Room, which has a seductive ambiance.

Of course, for casual fare there’s the beachfront Chef Market Grand Cafe & Deck, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets to please every palette.

I sampled pretty much EVERYTHING in there and here’s one item that you CAN NOT MISS:  the chocolate cake.   It was available every day and seriously, this was the best chocolate cake (moist, creamy) that I’ve ever had.    But I digress — let’s talk about the suites!

In a word:  massive.  I stayed in an elegant one bedroom jacuzzi suite featuring a living area separated by a decorative divider.  The living area features a pull-out couch and dining table–plenty of room for your BFFs.  But if there’s a whole group of you, there are larger suites available — a three bedroom suite, for instance, can also include an infinity pool right outside your balcony.

Each suite overlooks the resort’s refreshing (and huge!) infinity pool …

…and of course, the beach.  The beach!!

See the look of sheer bliss on my face?   This can be you.
