Sarah, Brooklyn

Q:  Hi, I am getting married around March 2013.  I have about 100 guests and my budget is within $10,000. I live in Brooklyn, but I’m looking for halls in the NY, NJ, Long Island area. Any suggestions?  The cuisine has to be Indian, so I would appreciate custom catering. thank you so much for your time!!

A:  Hi Sarah, Congratulations! (We hope you meant you’re getting married in March 2014 — or did you mean in two months??).   In any event, there are a couple of venues that come to mind for Indian cuisine.  Antun’s Banquet Hall in Hicksville specializes in Indian cuisine and can accommodate 50-400 guests. There are a few reception rooms to choose from, and they have affordable, all-inclusive packages that include photography, videography and a DJ!   Also, the Marriot Hotel in Uniondale specializes in Indian cuisine, and has a variety of rooms to choose from. Your guests can stay the night, which makes this venue a great option!

Note:  Some venues have a minimum guest count for a Friday or Saturday night, so if you are having under 120 guests be prepared  to compromise for a Thursday night or Sunday twilight reception.
