Phil, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom

Q:  Hi Claudia, I am looking to get married next year in early June – My fiancee and I are from the UK and are big fans of Jackson Pollock so will be visiting the area to visit the Pollock Krasner house. We will have no guests and just want a simple ceremony somewhere.   Is it possible and where do I start to look?

A:  Hello there, Phil!  Glad you found us all the way from the UK.  It sounds like what you want is to get married at a town hall — your best bet, since you’ll be in eastern Long Island, is to do it in East Hampton (where the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center is located).   You can get your marriage license at the Town Clerk’s office and have your ceremony once 24 hours have passed.    To celebrate your nuptials, you’ll find a plethora of fine restaurants in the Hamptons and because June is the perfect time be on Long Island, do take advantage of our fabulous beaches and parks while visiting.   Here’s a link to the visitors bureau for planning your visit.  Enjoy!
