Shot 1 was not taken with an on camera flash and is not harshly broad lit. It was taken with off camera studio monolights through a beauty dish camera right. Have you ever seen an on camera flash produce such a soft light? To call this shot overexposed in any way is just plain false. Not to mention that the background scene and sky is beautiful as is the moment between the couple. The bridal party shot is a pano crop which is a very popular way to remove excess negative space from an image. Sometimes shadows are unavoidable in certain locations at different times of day. Why didn't you make up some false critique for the gorgeous dress and bridal close-up? Yes the last shot was taken from the backseat; actually I was sitting on the back of the car. The shutter was dragged to show the movement along the road. It is a nice shoreline scene in the fall in perfect late afternoon light. What constitutes it being a snapshot? In fact this shot has been praised by fellow photographers publicly as an extremely strong shot that they themselves enjoyed very much. Joe Sanflippo is a friend, Adam Abrams is a friend and I would never ever even think about doing what you did to try to get ahead in the market. The first shot is a obvious flash broadlighting their faces, making them look heavier and over exposed while underexposing the background, the bridal party shot composition cuts the image in half, it's rather flat being just an uninteresting line-up, the shadow in the foreground is distracting, the groomsman on the left is posed awkwardly and the last shot is nothing more than a snapshot taken from the backseat. The bigger question is: why are long islanders so content with mediocrity? We live in the shadow of NYC, where great talent flocks and converges, yet accept poor talent when it comes to our weddings? That’s siome pretty poor photography.
