Long Islanders Get Engaged on Broadway Stage PROPOSALS

Here’s a unique way to propose:  On a Broadway stage!   That’s just what Stony Brook University grad student Deepjot Anand did on March 13th, right after a showing of  Twyla Tharp’s Frank Sinatra musical “Come Fly Away” at the Marquis Theatre.    According to Newsday, Anand,  and now fiance Erica Ravin of Smithtown, had their “first official date 4 1/2 years ago, when they had dinner at the attached Marriott Marquis hotel and took in a performance of Tharp’s Billy Joel musical “Movin’ Out” at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.  He got the nuptial notion about a month ago while buying tickets for the [Twyla Tharp] show, which opens March 25.”

During curtain call, the couple was summoned to the stage for “unknown” reasons.   And that’s when Anand got down on one knee and proposed in front of the entire audience.  Of course, Erica Ravin said “Yes.”
