My fiance proposed to me on Christmas Eve at my Brother’s house.  My children, nieces & nephews were opening gifts when my fiance handed me a small Christmas stocking and said I think this one is for you”.  It had a tag peeking out that said “pull slowly” and was attached to a long piece of curling ribbon.  At the end of the ribbon was the most beautiful ring!  He then proposed to me in front of my whole family.  It was so sweet and meant so much to me for my children and family to be able to share that special moment with us.

I flew down to Cancun in June with my girlfriend’s family. I had the ring in my pocket and got stopped by customs. My future in-laws knew I had the ring so they occupied my girlfriend while I tried to explain to the Mexican police what was in my pocket.  After we checked in I got us a double kayak to take out to ask her on.  We got off and it was a little shaky because neither of us have ever kayaked. As I was taking the ring out some jerk went by on a jet ski and over we flipped!  I was so concerned about losing the ring our oars were floating away.  I swam over to her, put the ring on her finger.  She was crying and laughing at the same time.  She almost drowned me but she said yes so it was all worth it.  With the way my luck was going I thought for sure we’d come down with swine or something. Everyone came home happy and healthy.

It was Sunday,  September 13th -  it was the first Sunday of football.  He was excited to watch the games. I had told him to invite his buddies over for a football party.  I had made all his favorite ball game snacks and made sure there was plenty of beer.  I put out all the food and made sure everyone had drinks and at half time I came out with a football jersey and brought him a beer which I had tied the ring to the neck of the beer bottle.  I gave him the beer and he asked why was there a ring tied to it. I turned around and stopped for him to see the back of the jersey that said marry me?  Where the name would be he read it and jumped up and said Yes!!!

  • Hello everyone. I was recently selected as a semi finalist on the walk 97.5 contest and would like to thank everyone that voted in my selection to be a semi finalist in the contest. It’s over this Sunday and I can really use the help for your vote. I recently have lost my job in a layoff and would like to give my fiance the wedding she truly deserves but will find it difficult to do so until I can find work! I am a Union apprentice carpenter out of local #210. Due to the economy construction is a very difficult to find a Job in this field. I ask everyone for their support in voting so I can give to her something meaningful and unforgettable. I am the only male contestant that has gotten selected to the semi finals and I try my hardest to make her happy. I have beenposting my story on Facebook and trying to get local support from everyone in my community to help out a person in need. I please ask if you can to help me by forwarding this message to your email contact, with this this posting. Thank you and you can read my story in the contest! Thanks for taking the time to read this and support. Sincerely, John Romero
