Melissa C. – My story may not be crazy romantic but it’s both funny and romantic. My fiancé proposed to me the day I had root canal surgery. I had left work early for the emergency appt. I had a terrible toothache. When I called my fiancé he was asking many questions such as when I’d get home. After the dentist I went home and was very cranky due to the pain. I walked in to find candles lit, music playing and dinner ready. He made fish, something soft for my tooth ache. He then said he wanted to show me the floor he laid down in the bathroom upstairs. At this point I still had no idea still being under the anesthesia. We walk upstairs, I go into the bedroom, then bathroom to notice the floor has not changed. When I walked out of the room into the other bedroom; my fiancé had candles lighting up the entire room with “Will you Marry Me” written in rose petals on the carpet. There he was on one knee with the ring in a Mickey Mouse ring holder where he asked me to marry him. I was lost for words. Until I came to my senses and happily accepted to be his wife.

Jennifer B. – It was Sunday, September 13th – it was the first Sunday of football. He was excited to watch the games. I had told him to invite his buddies over for a football party. I had made all his favorite ball game snacks and made sure there was plenty of beer. I put out all the food and made sure everyone had drinks and at half time I came out with a football jersey and brought him a beer which I had tied the ring to the neck of the beer bottle. I gave him the beer and he asked why was there a ring tied to it. I turned around and stopped for him to see the back of the jersey that said “Marry me?” where the name would be. He read it and jumped up and said Yes!!!

Danielle C. – February 14th, Valentine’s day, hasn’t always been the most exciting day for me, to be honest I hated it. I was stuck at work and early in the morning my boyfriend, Jack, stopped by with flowers and a card with a cute yet corny magnet in it saying “I’M STUCK ON YOU”. My stomach sank a little thinking this was the extent of my Valentine’s Day. He told me maybe we would make plans to go to a nice dinner later on that evening but he was kind of short on money. About 45 minutes. Before I was to leave work Jack rushes into my boss’s office and convinces him to let me leave early on account of his proposal. As I get in the car I’m curious as to where we are going and all I get is “You’ll see.” Eventually we pull up to a secret little spot in the back roads of our little town. A spot Jack and I go from time to time to find refuge from our hectic lives. It’s a beautiful outlook on a bluff overlooking the sound. It still sticks out in my mind how unbelievably warm it was for a February afternoon. We start walking down a secret trail leading down the bluff onto a smaller more private overlook. As we walk Jack is telling me that in the wild a penguin will search his entire life to find the perfect mate and when he finds her he presents her with a pebble and if she accepts they remain together for the rest of their lives. Abruptly he stops and turns. He tells me that he spent the entire day down there searching for the perfect pebble and instantly drops to one knee. The tears swell up in my eyes with anticipation of what’s about to come. As I look down I see written out on the sand in stones and drift wood “WILL YOU MARRY ME.” I instantly started crying to the point where he had to ask me a second time “Well…will you?” I ran to him and cried “Of course I will marry you!” The sun sparkled like diamonds on the water but nothing could compare to the beauty of the ring presented to me. I was blown away. Then as I flew into his arms we shared the most passionate kiss I have ever experienced in our 5 years together. This was the real thing. As I calmed down and regained my composure to my surprise my best friend Scott was there behind me recording the whole proposal! It was everything I could have dreamed it to be. The best part was that he did all this for me! He later went on to tell me that he was so nervous he went down to the bluff very early in the morning and spent all day collecting rocks and drift wood to set it up ahead of time. Later that day he went to check on it right before he picked me up from work and unfortunately someone or something had destroyed it so he had to do it all over again. He said it was well worth it. It was by far the happiest day of my life. The only thing that could top that would be to finally have the chance to walk down the aisle surround by my family and friends and finally say “I DO”.

John R. – Well the day started with my fiancé coming up with the idea of celebrating her birthday on the beach which happens to be on the Fourth of July. That day I decided that it would be perfect to propose to her. So I went to the store and purchased a ring with one of her friends. We headed over to the beach early and barbequed and enjoyed the wonderful sites and sound as the suspense built inside. At Fairfield Pavilion there was a group by the name of In Harmony that sang oldies tunes. So I asked them if they could help me to propose to her on stage right before the fireworks display but I wanted to surprise her, so I asked them if they could sing happy birthday to her. The group was kind enough to do so and before the fireworks I grabbed the microphone and told her that I loved her and wanted to take the relationship a step further and proposed in front of thousands of people. The beach cheered and she said yes! Afterwards, the group sang going to the chapel and the firework display was shown! The great thing is I have it all on my Facebook page on video!

Natalie C. – While Gino was stationed in Iraq for two years, we reunited our friendship, via the internet, and spoke every day until his return home to the United States. When we finally met face to face at his homecoming party, we knew it was destiny that we were brought together. This past Tuesday, it was Gino’s birthday and as part of his gift, I told him I would take him out for dinner. He wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant that we had gone to on our first date and I thought nothing of it. During the dinner, he kept telling me how much I meant to him and I was brushing him off, “Yea, yea, let’s get more Saki!” Suddenly he was down on his knee for what seemed like eternity proposing to me. Of course I said “Yes” as Gino is my soul mate and I love him more than anything. The whole restaurant was applauding and buying us drinks. Unknown to me, Gino’s sister and mother had come to the restaurant and driven Gino’s car to the Garden City Hotel. When I walked outside the restaurant there was a limo waiting at the door with roses and champagne inside. I was taken to the penthouse of the Garden City Hotel. When I opened the door to the room there were rose pedals strewn on the carpet engraved champagne glasses without names and the date chocolate covered fruits music playing without favorite song. It was the most romantic and greatest night of my life! Needless to say I never went to work the next day. We actually stayed up all night not wanting the day to end!”
