I definitely agree. I think it's a great scheme cooked up by wedding salons. I plan to get as many hours of enjoyment out of my single gown as possible!

I have, however, seen convertible gowns on TV, that have a removable skirt and below is a shorter, more casual dress. That could be a cost-effective alternative, but as for me, I want to be a princess all night!

I can see how that makes sense, especially if there's an after party. But the trend I'm noticing is brides changing to another wedding gown right after the ceremony -- which means the first gown was worn for what, maybe a couple of hours at best?

I agree that your wedding gown deserves spotlight attention, but I've heard that some brides switch to a second dress towards the end of the evening (after all formalities including cutting the cake) because it's so much more comfortable to dance in.

I agree with Claudia on this one. Your wedding gown is such a special item which you will have spent a graet deal of time and money on. You will only wear it once so get the best out of it. Besides surely we are all trying to be a little more responsible these days about wastefullness.
