In the News: Allegria Hotel and Spa in Long Beach
There are delays in the opening of the new luxury Allegria Hotel and Spa in Long Beach, according to Long Island Business News. The official grand opening is now to take place in the fall, according to a spokesperson from Allegria. As for those who have booked weddings and other events there, they “have either pushed back their dates, moved their parties to another venue or gotten refunds from the hotel,” the article states.
“Allegria” means happiness in Spanish — but I’ll bet there are many who are not exactly overjoyed with this development. Are you a bride who has booked her wedding at Allegria? I’d love to hear a comment from you…

The hotel and the idiots running the place should have never booked those weddings. They booked them, they are responsible. It’s called customer service and doing the right thing. I know people who had thier wedding moved and they were not honest with them the entire time. It is a terrible way to operate a business. I don’t know how they can lie to your face and still sleep at night. You could never pay me enough to do that to a couple or anyone else. I guess you need to be completely cold and heartless to work for the Allegria. The entire situation could have been handled differently. Of course they are looking to make money it is a business, but at what expense can you put on a pleasant face and lie through your teeth all day long?

First off do you really think he wanted to lie to all those people. You have to be a complete jackass if you believe that. The hotel had a “soft” 0pening on Thursday night and the place was packed all weekend. This is something that Long Beach has needed for quite sometime. It is not easy taking a 100 year old building and making it a 5 star hotel. The place looks beautiful and will only get better. Im sorry to hear that people had to have their weddings moved but I assure you it was not done intentionally.
The food was great
The atmosphere was great
The staff was great
Cheers to the Allegria We love it!

I have been working with these people for 2 months to plan my wedding. They are terrible! The worst customer service ever. I agree the place is great and the food is wonderful. It really is unlike anything else.
But even with that, would I have known how unprofessional they are I would have never booked it. They are still lying to me and blowing me off and I am paying them over 25K! Not to mention I will have a ton on people staying there that night. It takes over a week to get a response back, even though you call everyday. It is unacceptable.
I can only imagine the lies and anguish they put all those “relocated” brides through. It does not have to be this way, I can’t wait to be done with them! If your looking to trust and respect the people at your venue DO NOT book here unless you are prepared to be disappointed and annoyed bride. I hope the investors soon realize how bad the place is being run. Survey the former brides, I’m sure you’ll get the big picture.

I booked the Allegria for my April wedding and the people could not have been nicer. I am dealing with Tiffany and she is Awesome. She returns my calls promptly, sends me information etc. I am very excited and I cannot wait to get married there. We love it!!!

Suzy, that’s really great to hear as we certainly want the Allegria to succeed. It looks like a fabulous venue for Long Island weddings! Please keep us posted once you’ve had the wedding. And Congratulations!
