Q: How do I change my name once I’m married?
A: Once you have your Certified Marriage License, call the Social Security Administration (800-772-1213). The process is automated. Once you’ve received an updated card with your new name on it, go to your local DMV and change your driver’s license. Then draft a simple announcement, make copies of it and mail it to all of your credit card and bank accounts, automobile and health insurance policies and other important accounts.
