According to IBISWorld, an industry research firm, brides are renting bridal gowns more than ever. In fact, spending on rented dresses is expected to grow 7.5 percent to $43 million – up from $40 million in 2008. Meanwhile, sales of new wedding gowns have been declining, although this is still a whopping $900 million-plus industry. Also, because of the economy, the amount spent on wedding planners is expected to drop 4.2 percent to $785 million.
